Description
The project “Promoting Energy Efficiency Enhancement in Electricity Generation” (EWG 211 2023A) aimed to accelerate the phase-out of unabated fossil fuels and enhance energy efficiency in electricity generation by implementing effective policy and boosting innovation and technological improvements. The goal was to pursue strong, balanced, secure, sustainable, and inclusive growth in the Asia-Pacific region. The Workshop Summary Report summarized insights from workshop speakers and participants and included recommendations for policy setting and roadmap formulation. These recommendations are intended to strengthen policymaking, implementation, and investment in enhancing energy efficiency in electricity generation, thereby contributing to the achievement of the APEC energy intensity reduction goal and the energy transition.
