Description

The meetings industry has a significant impact on the environment and communities, as companies organize events and exhibitions to promote local regions and market products (Global Sustainable Tourism Council, 2024).

This tourism model is undergoing profound changes and plays an increasingly important role in economic and social development. To address this, it is crucial to implement strategic actions that define objectives and prepare necessary strategies, involving all stakeholders, especially governments.

This proposal analyzes the implementation of guidelines for the Meetings Industry in the Asia-Pacific region, aiming to diversify tourism offerings in APEC destinations by focusing on the development and promotion of the meetings industry.

The implementation of these recommendations is vital for the industry, as it provides a framework for development, prioritizing collaboration with governments, regional and local authorities, and industry leaders to ensure sustainable growth and effective articulation across economies.
