APEC ensures that goods, services, investment and people move easily across borders. Members facilitate this trade through faster customs procedures at borders; more favorable business climates behind the border; and aligning regulations and standards across the region.

APEC has helped drive economic growth and cooperation across the Asia-Pacific by reducing trade barriers, improving the ease of doing business and strengthening connectivity among economies. These efforts have contributed to rising incomes, expanded trade and greater opportunities for businesses and communities across the region.

Vessel innovation brings forth sustainable and appropriate technologies and engineering solutions that can enhance the ability to locate, track, and remove debris from marine environments. It also enables the development of specialized vessels designed for efficient debris management and disposal. By employing vessel innovation, we can significantly improve our capacity to prevent, monitor, and mitigate marine debris.
During the symposium, four economies presented their efforts in managing marine debris by using modified fishing vessels, small boat, new type of debris collecting vessel, and many types of activities. The main point is to stop debris leakage from rivers and land into marine water. The guidelines and recommendation book gives insight how APEC economies tackle this issues according their capabilities.
