Description
Increasing energy efficiency in buildings will contribute to environmental recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the technical capabilities of quality infrastructure for energy efficiency of lighting products have not reduced energy consumption and CO2 emissions. The two-day workshop held 25-26 September 2023, in Bali, Indonesia, marked an important milestone in improving energy efficiency in buildings. This project is a workshop to identify opportunities to enhance the quality of infrastructure for energy efficiency in lighting products in buildings. This workshop provides a platform to share valuable insights and knowledge regarding energy efficiency testing for lighting products among diverse participants in a short-term outcome. Regarding long-term outcomes, the workshop recommended that IEC TC 34 consider utilizing IEC Guide 118 to evaluate the readiness of IEC 60969 and IEC 62612 as performance testing standards for CFLs and LEDs. Proposed energy efficiency testing training for LEDs is another long-term outcome.
