PPFS Webinar on the public-private partnerships and information sharing on food security was held on December 2, 2020 as a part of the APEC Self-Funded Project ‘The study for the Next Step of APIP (Asia Pacific Information Platform) in Asia Pacific Region’ by Japan.
Achieving food security depends fundamentally on partnership and collaboration between policy makers and private sector. A ‘whole system’ approach is needed. It is important to create an environment that enables farmers, businesses and policy
makers to further collaborate effectively, including by improving environment for investments in agri-food sector, to ensure food security for all under the Covid-19 pandemic. In this context, this seminar has focused on the following two topics.
1) How policy makers and private sectors can work together to encourage investments in agri-food sector.
2) How to facilitate information and knowledge sharing, including good practices, through the Asia-Pacific Information Platform on Food Security (APIP)
