This report presents the outcomes of the APEC project PPSTI 01 2023 – Collaborative Development of Knowledge Discovery Approaches for Spatio-Temporal Prediction of Dry Spell to Predict Water Deficit Risk. The project addressed the growing challenges of water security and climate variability across APEC economies by strengthening capacities to monitor, analyze, and forecast dry spells, droughts, heatwaves, and water needs. Building on previous APEC initiatives, it combined advanced climate analytics, digital technologies, and collaborative knowledge exchange to support evidence-based decision-making for Integrated Water Resources Management. Key project outputs include the development of the DryViz digital platform for visualization and forecasting, the delivery of an international capacity-building workshop with practical training activities, and the production of technical guidance and dissemination materials. The project fostered collaboration among researchers, government agencies, policymakers, industry representatives, and technical experts to enhance regional resilience to climate-related water risks.
