This summary report summarizes the workshop held on 3 and 4 December 2025 at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel in Tokyo, Japan. It was designed as an in person workshop to facilitate knowledge sharing and policy-relevant discussions on improving energy efficiency and reducing emissions across the fossil energy value chain. The workshop featured industry experts as speakers from the coal, gas, and oil sectors, and was attended by policymakers and other relevant officials from APEC member economies, who engaged in discussions to exchange experiences, best practices, and analytical perspectives.
A total of 37 individuals attended the workshop, including speakers and participants from 11 APEC economies: Australia; Brunei Darussalam; Canada; Chile; China; Japan; Malaysia; Papua New Guinea; the Philippines; United States and Viet Nam.
