This report presents the outcomes of the APEC project “Improving the Efficiency of Textile Production Using Smart Technology to Promote the Development of the APEC Textile Industry.” The project aimed to support digital transformation in the textile sector by promoting the adoption of smart manufacturing technologies, data integration, and sustainable production practices across APEC member economies. Through an international seminar, expert exchanges, and industry site visits, the project facilitated knowledge sharing on AI applications, digital product creation, smart factory management, and supply chain transparency. The discussions highlighted key challenges faced by textile manufacturers, including investment barriers, skills gaps, and data interoperability issues. The report also proposes policy recommendations to strengthen regional collaboration, enhance digital infrastructure, and support MSMEs in adopting smart technologies. Overall, the project contributes to improving production efficiency, supply chain resilience, and sustainable development in the APEC textile industry.
