APEC Human Resources Development Ministerial Meeting (HRDMM)

The 8th APEC Human Resources Development Ministerial Meeting (HRDMM) brings together ministers to modernize how economies prepare students and workforces as new digital innovations such as artificial intelligence reshape labor markets across the region.

Meeting in Nanjing, ministers will discuss how to promote high-quality and full employment through strengthening vocational skills training and lifelong learning and improve the efficiency and adaptability of social security systems amid rapid technological and demographic change.

The ministerial meeting comes as the Asia-Pacific, home to a substantial share of the global labor force, faces an employment environment where 86 percent of employers expect AI and other information-processing technologies to transform their business by 2030.
