This policy brief provides an overview of current global and regional food security and highlights a number of best practices that APEC member economies could implement in order to address some of the challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and improve resiliency in food systems. These challenges are related to issues related to the production and distribution of food, as well as economic downturn associated to COVID-19 that is having implications on food security. The policy brief also provides suggestions on what APEC could do to help improve regional food security.
